Today was a challenge for me today to keep a smile on my face for the kids.  My husband had to take our older dog Blackie to be put down.  He fell last night and since he is 14 years old they couldn't do anything.  

We did make Valentines for you and worked on a "math" paper.  The paper was simple addition.  We counted the pictures and they tried to write the number.  They did very well for the first time.  This class loves to count we count everything during our time together.

Remember our party is Thursday.  We will be sharing valentines and making valentine bags for our valentines and  treats.

We will be welcoming our newest student Boston to class on Thursday.

Monday

Today we made a Red book!  Talked about the color red found red things in the room.

We will be singing in chapel on Wednesday at 9:00am.  

We are working on Valentines and getting ready for our party on Friday.  

Remember that we are putting a basket together for Trivia Night as a class.  The basket is Family game night.  Please donate things like games, puzzels, snacks and anything else you can think of that would go in this basket.  Thank you

Friday 

I do not have pictures today.  We are working on surprises for Valentines day.  I sent home party requests in your child's folder.  

We had the letter R for show and tell today.  Rabbits, Robots, Rhinoceros, Robin (Batman side kick that is) picture of Riley (Maleah's puppy) Great words.  Next week we will do the letter S.  

Remember Open House is February 13 from 4-7pm come and visit our room to see what we have been doing.  You can also check out the rest of the school.

Community helpers working in our Post Office and Supermarket

In Jesus time we will be talking about The Good Samaritan and St. Valentines Day.  Today we read about the real Valentine who lived in Rome a very long time ago who helped many people showing them the love of Christ daily.  

Pastor came to see us today.  He read "Splat the Cat"  a Valentine story.  

We did a paper today about the letter R.  

We did our letter R show and tell today.  We had rhinoceros, remote, Rafael, rock, rope and Rapunzel. 

We are working on cutting.  Holding the scissors correctly etc.  Today we made hearts.  We also enjoyed playing in our Post Office and Store.  We will be talking about community helpers all month.  On Tuesday February 25th we will have a dress up day.  They can come to school dressed up as their favorite community helper.

The letter R bag was sent home today.  Please send something that starts with the letter R for show and tell on Thursday.  

We raced in the gym today as well.

 Monday
Today we began are Community Helper Theme with a Post office and Store.  

We also welcomed a new student Ella York to our class she had a great day.  The class is now full at 10.

We also learned how to cut out a heart.  We wrote our names on them and put them on the wall by the cubbies.

We will have dress up day on February 24 everyone should dress up in their favorite community helper costume.  We are going to be talking about what we want to be when we grow up.

We will be singing in Chapel on Wednesday at 9:00am.  I will be recording it for posting but if you want to see it live you are more than welcome.

I sent home their letter bags today so we will have them for Friday (just in case we have a snow day)  The letter this week is R.
